I went down to Utah this weekend.
Went to Logan, then Bountiful, then Provo, then American Fork/Lehi, then Farmington, then Logan, then American Fork/Lehi, then Provo, then American Fork/Lehi, then Salt Lake and thennnnn backkkk toooo IDAHO!
I saw my cute friend Kayla in Logan Thursday night
Played with my friend Bethany and her sweet baby in Salt Lake Friday
Had lunch and caught up with my long lost friend Summer in Provo
Then quickly visited with Cydnee in Provo
before meeting up with my dad for the weekend!
Dad and I took Grandpa for a drive up Provo Canyon to see the Fall colors.
First off, when my Grandpa saw my dad. His face was adorable and he kept saying, "I missed you." over and over. I loved witnessing it.
Are these not gorgeous?!?
Beautiful colors.
My Grandpa is adorable.
After Grandpa went down for a nap my dad took me to go find food for lunch.
He wanted to sit outside since it was
like uhhh 80 degrees and perfect!
We picked up Chinese,
walked along a river and found a picnic table to sit at.
Cutest little thing.
My dad is great.
(and just to throw this in there, he opens all my doors and makes me
feel like a million bucks.
We had some great conversations too.)
OKAY!
Then, I got my dad to take me
to the gardens and rent
Segways.
SO MUCH FUN.
(it might have been my idea but it was the greatest.)
My dad was hilarious. All day he just was like a little kid.
I felt like the luckiest daughter in the whole world.
My dad would rock the segway back and forth and challenge me to go through a maze with no hands and then say, "Okay, we are playing follow the leader. You have to keep up." Then he would take off fast and weave in and out of bushes. I loved how playful and hilarious he was! I couldn't stop laughing and smiling the whole time.
Yeah, so segways are smart.
They know when you are messing with then and pushing their limits.
They push you back if you go to fast,
yell and throw fits
if you treat them wrong
or don't get them enough space-eventually turning off,
and will literally buck you off if you irritate them!
Here is an example of the fit it throws:
Okay, this video is kind of lame
in so many ways but is so great too,
so I am sorry for the lame parts you have to watch
because I don't want to edit it :)
My personal favorite is the hand-on-hip spin:
One of the highlights:
Yeuppp, my dad got bucked off a few times.
Luckily, I caught one on camera.
Is the best sound not when it screeches?!
ohhh man. SO Funny!!!
and then his legs fly up!?
dahahahahha
There were tons of nasty coy!
They feel the vibrations of you walking and immediately all swarm.
Then they just start opening their mouths.
Spoiled, ugly fish.
My dad thought it would be funny to drop huge spit balls
aaaaand it worked!
They got it. Ew.
But I have to admit, I loved it.
My dad gave me a quarter and insisted that I get food for them.
Then we tricked them and fed them dirt. (It was cheaper)
So, in this video it stops filming right whne they started going crazy.
It gets to the point where they are flipping each other out of the water!
Groooossss coy.
After our lovely day I headed up to meet my friend Brittany to go
I must say, it was a pretty successful reunion
Sunday Dad and I met up with my Aunt Sandy
to join Grandpa for Sacrament meeting in his nursing home.
(Side note: best place ever. I highly recommend it.)
After some interesting old/young people interactions,
Such as the lady who kept laughing at me and grabbing my leg during sacrament while I tried helping her. Or the cute deacon who brought the sacrament to her and left in in her hands while he tied his shoe and she almost dropped it but he was able to gain hold of it once more only to tug until it was freed. After he finally had it back he tried walking by and was squeezing awkwardly and so scared of her to pass it to me. I was loving this bytheway.
We walked outside and sat by the duck pond for a while.
Altogether, the weekend was wonderful!
A successful, warm Utah trip for me!
two songs I am obsessed with that I belted out through the rain on my drive back:

Beautiful pictures, sweet storytelling, touching sentiments and heartwarming, toe-tappin' music. Thanks for sharing; I feel like I was with you now. You have painted a remarkable canvas of your weekend with Dad, and the brushstrokes are amazing. So much more complete than Dad's "it was a good trip" brief commentary.
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU TAHNEE. I watched that video of your dad biffing it like ten times. I seriously laughed out loud every time.
